module6.jpgWeek Six Module: Sunday, April 24 - Saturday, April 30

Congratulations on nearing the end of the RITTI online course! We hope you have enjoyed this challenging, but worthwhile experience. We wanted to bring your attention to specific course details. You may want to copy this and use as a checklist.

Your Unit of Study and related materials will be uploaded to a state-wide lesson database. Every teacher in the state will be able to look at your work and related documents. The purpose of the database is to provide Rhode Island teachers with standards-based lessons, and Units of Study, that integrate technology. Any teacher should be able to read your Unit of Study, look at the technology models, progression of lessons, rubrics, DOK, GLE'S, IFL, Standards, Applied Learning, and assessments and be able to replicate that unit in their classroom with their students. The Unit of Study rubric is attached. Please use the rubric while reviewing your personal Unit of Study template and make revisions as necessary.

To meet the course (and grant) requirements, you must complete the following by Wednesday, April 27 (unless otherwise noted):

1. Complete all course module work. Please review the course wiki and ensure you have completed the technology and discussion forum assignments. Assignments should be uploaded to your personal website unless arrangements have been made with your assigned trainer.

2. Complete all sections of your Unit of Study and upload the file to your RIEPS resource folder by Wednesday, April 27.
HOW TO DO THIS? See Instructions below

3. Create models of the technology you will require your students to use as part of the Unit of Study. Remember: your Unit of Study must include students using technology! Post models to your RIEPS resource folder by Wednesday, April 27. Instructions for uploading files to RIEPS

4. Create all summative and formative assessments (rubrics) for your Unit of Study. Post assessments to your RIEPS resource folder by Wednesday, April 27. Instructions for uploading files to RIEPS. Remember, you can use your document camera to take pictures of any district rubrics.

5. Starting the evening of April 27 (after everyone has uploaded their Unit of Study and related work to RIEPS), you are to review at least two other Units of Study posted to the RIEPS resource folder. You are required to post your feedback to those participants in the RIEPS Discussion Forum 11 by Saturday, April 30.

6. You should also watch the Mike Wesch video posted HERE and respond with your questions and 'a-ha' comments to Discussion Forum 12 by Saturday, April 30. These videos are just amazing....you don't want to miss them!

7. One last requirement from the state is to complete the Post-Survey posted on the RIEPS course site. Look under couse tools on the left side of your screen in RIEPS. The survey link will be posted Wednesday, April 27 and must be completed by April 30.

We realize this sounds like a lot but please remember, our weekly assignments were created to break down the Unit of Study so that each week you were completing a section of your Unit. The next two weeks should be time for you to refine the work you have already created. Remember that your Unit of Study and supporting documents must be uploaded to your RIEPS folder. We will upload those documents to the state-wide lesson plan database. It is crucial that your Unit of Study and all related documents be uploaded to your RIEPS resource folder by April 27 or your lesson will be posted to the state-wide database as incomplete. This may affect your grant award.

We have enjoyed getting to meet you and work with you. We appreciate the time you have given to this course, and the patience you have shown while experimenting with new technologies. Please remember that we are here for you during the next two weeks to assist you in the final stages of course completion.
